My name is Rex Thomas. I am 41 years old, born and raised in the Kootenays in BC and spent a number of years in Squamish/Whistler and the Fraser Valley. I have been fly fishing for 32 yrs. I grew up targeting trout and char in Eastern BC and Western Alberta. Later I spent time learning how to fish two-handed rods for steelhead and salmon. Now I'm here in beautiful Alberta looking to put you on some of our finest Trout and Char. When fishing on my own I strive to cover, research and study as much new and different water as possible. Here in Calgary we are lucky to have the Bow River, and it's phenomenal blue ribbon fishery, right at our fingertips. However, my favourite days are out targeting small water brown trout, sight fishing big bull trout or throwing dry flies in the dark. I have been a High Performance Ski Coach for over 18 years and  educating people is in my blood. It's what I love more than anything. Refining skills, passing on knowledge and seeing success in others is my true happy place. 

 

My favourite food is a good craft brewed IPA........... that's a food right?
